Focus, Focus…On God!
Focusing ourselves takes total discipline. It takes lying down and giving up ourselves totally. Sometimes we will be disappointed because God may not do what we may have wanted or what we may have thought would be best, but we must remember that He doesn't think like we do. The plans that He has for us doesn't even come close to what we could have done ourselves. Isaiah 55:8 says, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” And I for one know how true that really is!
My personal definition about how to truly focus oneself on God means no matter what's going on around you or how bad that situation is, you can still find yourself having peace and joy. The point here is that we need to find ourselves being so wrapped up in God that we forget about our plans, situations, or even our issues, to really embrace the peace and joy that we desire. This is how we find comfort in knowing that God is all knowing and that He will take care of every little detail of our lives. As we believe that God is all knowing and concerned about everything that concerns us, we find ourselves trusting God more and more.
As being women, wives, mothers and friends, we as Christian women need an extra double dose of God. We have so many roles that we play and our desire should want to be the best in all of these roles, but we need God to be able to do it all in excellence.
The process of losing ourselves in God can be a long and tough road, because we’re learning how to be completely focused on Him. This means not focusing on anyone’s opinion, or how someone may view us, or even the expectations we have on ourselves. I must admit that I am guilty of all of these things. Sometimes I get so distracted on how others view me and how I want to be viewed, that I lose sight of who I am in Christ. Have you ever felt that way?
Well, the process of breaking through this stronghold and anything else that may be holding us back from unlocking the door to a new life in Christ is to know that God is able to release and free us. He can do this do and much more if we lose ourselves in Him.
So let’s keep our focus on God. Philippians 3:15 says “So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.”
Keep this scripture close and keep seeking God through His word. Studying His word is one way we can lose ourselves in Him as well. We Can Do It! Let’s keep embracing this Anew life God wants us to have!
Prayer Time!
“God help me lose myself in you, help me to give you full control of my life. God Continue to show me that your way is best and you will do best by me if I give up my rights and watch you mold me into your perfect love.”
