Welcome back to Made ANEW! I hope your transition into ANEW person has been a good one!
It's a new month that's going to be filled with many lessons and of course wonderful blessings, I can feel it!!
So let's talk about growth, meaning growing in God....
Becoming ANEW creature in Christ will lead to spiritual growth. Our wonderful Savior uses so many things in our lives to teach us how to grow in Him. And He does this everyday by using situations at our jobs, schools, and even in our homes, but we need our faith to be stretched sometimes.
So I know the question now may be, “How can I grow in God?” or “What are the first steps I should take?” Well, first and foremost, loving the Lord is the first step in spiritual growth. Growing in God means you will know Him better and love and obey Him more. The foundation of growth is to know God's love and to love Him with your whole heart. Mark 12:30 says to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. That’s every ounce of you, everything you have, give it to God. I know it’s easier said than done, but believe me, giving everything to God is a decision that I promise you won't regret.
From my experience and what I'm still in the process of learning is knowing God's love as well. The biggest lesson I have learned so far is the way that I view God. The way that I view Him is the way I live my life. So if my view God as a God full of love and compassion, then I should live my life as a representation of what He is to me. With that being said, our lives should be an example of Christ. Meaning, the way we carry ourselves and by the way we act, shows that we are living ANEW.
Joyce Meyer once said, “Most people don't know that God loves them because if they did they wouldn't act the way that they do.” This is so true! Most people don't know about the everlasting love of God. So it's our job as ANEW people to have our life represent what God is to us, which is LOVE. 1 Peter 3:4 tells us how we should clothe ourselves. And that is with a precious and gentle spirit, which is so precious to Him. This is important to do, because remember we are striving to please God with every aspect of our lives.
God really loves us as His children and He has awesome plans for us. He gave us His only begotten Son for sinners like you and me. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” So what kind of love is this? Well, to me, it's an everlasting, unfailing, and miraculous kinda love. Of course, you can add your own words of what you think God is to you. Granted, your words may be different than mine, and that's okay.
So to know God is to love God. Let Him bring you through different situations and remember it's all out of love. We can reap amazing blessings when we endure the trials that God brings us through. He won't put more on you than you can bear the scripture says (1 Corinthians 10:13). God's grace is significant enough to keep you (1 Corinthians12:9).Remember, when we are weak, God will be made strong in us.
For additional growth, do a study on how much God loves you. By doing this, I believe you will grow to love Him even more. As you do this, it will be a natural response to your wanting to please Him with your life. So hold on to your faith, and let God love you as you love Him back!
